01. Black Panther (Dir. Ryan Coogler, 2018) Film Review
As a valentines treat, I took my boyfriend to see Black Panther . (When I say treat, I mean treating myself to a close up, HD view of Michael B. Jordans face.) First off, I’d like to just say that I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this film. The characters? Brilliant. The mise-en-scene? Phenomenal. Cinematography? Astonishing. Let’s just say that pretty much everything ranked this film extremely high on my appreciation scale. Black Panther was a delight from start to finish, giving me a Marvel origin movie that was on par with Iron Man (Dir. John Favreau, 2008). The only negative thing I can think to comment on is the use of outdated meme references, but even those can be overlooked. I think the aspects that really stood out to me, and impressed me the most, were the plentiful amount of strong female characters, and how the soundtrack to the film really made me feel like I was watching a film , rather than just another movie to a...
